How to Use Google Docs

From time to time I’ll be sharing google docs with you and if you’ve never used Google Docs you are in for a treat. It is a fantastic resource (and free).

Here is a step-by-step starter guide to using it.

2. Access Account Creation: Click on the “Sign in” button, then select “Create account.”

1. Open the Shared Document: Access the document that has been shared with you through the link provided or from your Google Drive under “Shared with me.”

2. Copy the Document: Once the document is open, go to the “File” menu in the top left corner. In the drop-down menu, select “Make a copy.”

3. Rename and Save the Copy: In the dialog box that appears, you can rename the copy and choose where to save it in your Google Drive. Click “OK” to create the copy.

This step allows you to create your own copy of a document someone else has shared with you, which you can then edit and manage independently.

1. Start a New Document: Click on the “+” button or select “Blank” under “Start a new document.”

2. Basic Editing Tools: Familiarise yourself with the toolbar for font style, size, colour, adding bullets, and alignment.
